「買い占め」が問題となっている中、河野太郎・代議士、議員会館地下のコンビニで、カゴ一杯のミネラルウォーターを買いこんでいた。当人は、「宿舎になかったから。小さなペットボトルで、たぶん6本だけだ」と弁明したが、政府が国民に物品の買い占めをしないように呼びかけている中、「自分だけは」という考え方は、さもしい。

Three Mile Island in 1979 was about 30 tons;
the Chernobyl reactors had about 180 tons when the accident occurred in 1986.
